Online consultations

6 perguntas

Complete a medical questionnaire and send 3 photos of your skin concern. A dermatologist reviews your case and sends a detailed clinical report within the timeframe of the plan you choose. If clinically justified, the report includes an electronic prescription.

For most skin concerns, assessment via photographs and a clinical questionnaire allows the dermatologist to define a treatment plan. Some situations, such as assessing moles (nevi), may require in-person observation or further tests such as dermoscopy. In that case, the dermatologist will state this in the report and recommend an in-person consultation.

If the dermatologist identifies the need for an in-person assessment, you will be informed and guided on the next steps.

If you have warning signs such as active bleeding, a wound that has not healed for more than 3 weeks, or a very rapid change in a mole, seek urgent in-person care.

Yes. You can use our services to obtain a second opinion on a previously diagnosed dermatological condition.

Your case is reviewed and answered within up to 5 working days. If there are delays beyond the usual timeframe, we will contact you and keep you informed.

Skincare consultation

9 perguntas

The Skincare consultation is a 20-minute video consultation with a dermatologist, focused on daily skin care. We assess your skin type, goals and habits, and recommend a personalised routine you receive in writing after the call.

After booking, you receive a secure link by email to our virtual room. On the day, open the link to join. The consultation lasts 20 minutes and is led by Dr Vanessa Martins, in a private setting. You can join from computer, tablet or phone.

It is for anyone who wants to invest in their skin with sound judgement: anti-ageing, oil control, sensitivity/reactivity, pigmentation or improving texture and radiance. It is also useful if you already have a routine but are dissatisfied or need to adjust for new needs.

You receive a personalised report by email with your morning and evening routine, application order, frequency and recommendations by category (cleansing, moisturising, sun protection and other steps when needed). It includes guidance on ingredients and choices suited to your skin.

The Skincare consultation focuses on optimising daily care and prevention. General dermatology is for assessing dermatological problems (lesions, rashes, symptoms) and may involve diagnosis and medical treatment of a condition.

The report is sent by email after the video consultation ends. Timing may vary depending on case complexity.

Yes. After receiving the report, you have a follow-up period to clarify questions about applying the routine. If a new goal arises or your skin changes significantly, you can submit a new consultation.

Not necessarily. The Skincare consultation is not about "the most expensive" but what makes sense for your skin. Recommendations are by category and you can choose different brands and price ranges, focusing on efficacy and tolerance.

Yes, when it makes sense. If you already have a routine, the dermatologist can indicate what to keep, adjust or avoid, so your routine becomes simpler and aligned with your goals.

Insurance and reimbursement

6 perguntas

MyDermaCare does not currently have direct agreements with health insurers. However, as teledermatology falls within outpatient consultations, you may request reimbursement from your insurer — such as ADSE, Multicare, Médis, Advancecare and others — according to your plan.

After the consultation, we provide an invoice you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. If you have a partner health plan (Medicare, ACP, etc.), the discount is applied automatically.

The reimbursement amount depends on your policy and cover. Depending on the insurer, you may receive up to 80% of the consultation fee. Check with your insurer how much will be reimbursed.

Processing time varies by insurer, but usually takes 2 to 4 weeks after submitting documentation.

Usually only the invoice-receipt we provide. Some insurers may request additional documentation, which will be indicated in the process.

Yes. Online consultations are recognised and covered by most insurers in Portugal, especially since the pandemic.

Reports and documents

Yes. When the dermatologist issues a prescription, it is an electronic prescription through Portugal’s national Receita Sem Papel system, accepted at any pharmacy in Portugal.

When the dermatologist considers it clinically justified, the electronic prescription is issued with the report and sent by SMS to the phone number linked to your SNS user number. The decision to prescribe is solely the doctor’s. If the report mentions a prescription and you did not receive it by SMS, contact us at [email protected].

Please check your spam folder. If you still have not received it, contact us at [email protected].
